Hey readers! I hope that you find some inspiration from this blog post on how to create a faith-based birthday for yourself or a friend. Below, I will be sharing a little bit about how I celebrated my birthday weekend with God being the center of it all.
WORSHIP AND PAINT PARTY - FRIDAY
I chose to host a worship and paint party, where I invited friends and family to join me in a night of games, food, fellowship, and painting. I decorated my home the day before so I wouldn't have to overwhelm myself the morning of the party, due to me having to gather food and tables/chairs that day as well. The setup turned out absolutely amazing! I was completely overjoyed of how my decorations came together, because I had my mind set on a certain color scheme but had to improvise with what was available to me at the time.
Once I had everything setup and ready for guests to start arriving, I blessed my home with my anointing oil. I prayed over my entrance door, prayed away any negative spirits, and prayed over every door inside of my home as well. It felt necessary to do, because I wanted to create a safe, welcoming atmosphere for my guests and allow God's presence to be felt in the room.
Once my guests had arrived, we jumped right into starting on our canvases. I prepared glasses of wine and cups of mocktails (alcohol-free cocktails) while my mom catered the food. In midst of painting, I had my TV on YouTube allowing everyone to choose a gospel song of their choosing for us to worship to. The night went great, we laughed, cried, gave testimonies, played our games, ate great food and worshipped. It was a complete success. Everyone left inspired, encouraged, and full of joy; the night went the way I prayed for it to go, and God's presence definitely filled the room-- it was a 1000000/10!

BIRTHDAY DINNER- SATURDAY
I made reservations to have my birthday dinner party at Salute Italian Restaurant, which is an upscale Italian restaurant located off the beach of the MS Gulf Coast. I am a huge pasta girlie, and I knew some of my guests haven't tried the restaurant before so that worked amazingly.
I messaged all of my guests the color scheme of my birthday dinner a few weeks prior, to give them enough time to find something to wear. My color was Peridot Green- which is August's birthstone.
Dinner was great! We ate delicious food, took pictures, laughed, and all-around had an amazing time.

FEEDING THE HOMELESS- SUNDAY (MY BIRTHDAY)
I always try to find ways to help those in need, whether it is feeding them or giving them care bags. It was on my heart to use my birthday to give to others, instead of receiving things for myself, so that's what me and my family/friends did. I had friends who donated water, Gatorade, and bread to go with the meal we prepared, and a friend that prepared food at her home to add on to what we had, and with that, we were able to food more people than we sought out to.
It was such a rewarding feeling, knowing that we were making so many people's day with a home cooked meal and cold beverages on a super-hot day-- it allowed me to reflect on how blessed we are. There are so many people in the world who are hungry, thirsty, needing a warm bed, and a roof over their heads and they have no one to help them. So, getting out there in the streets with them to feed and hold conversations with them, was the greatest gift I was given on my birthday.
John replied," If you have two shirts, give one to the poor. If you have food, share it with the those who are hungry." - John The Baptist, Luke 3: 11 NLT

I pray that my birthday experience gives you a bit of inspiration when creating your faith-based weekend celebration! :)
